change-a-comin

Hello All,
I have been on a reading frenzy lately and I have acquired many names because of this; such as Library Jones, the girl who read and walks, the girl who is always studying, and the girl who cannot take a break. My response to all of them is “whatever”
The last book I read was Rosanne Cash Memoir, it is beautifully written, at times I felt as if she was sitting with me telling me a story. You should all read it; it is called “Composed”.
I also finished the “Orchid Thief” by another terrific writer and storyteller, Susan Orlean. The movie “Adaptation” is based on this book. I do not remember seeing the movie but I will add it to my list of must see.
I am currently finishing “The portable Blake” a collection of William Blake’s writing. I am not a poetry person and to broaden my horizon I thought I would start with one of the best, and I am enjoying his work.

On February 18, my employer told me that my services were not going to be need after April 29. In addition, with all this reading and learning, I am job hunting. Luckily, my proprietor agreed to let me out of my lease with one-month penalty, which will help mitigate my expenses. I will be moving whether I find a job or not, and only God knows where my next residence will be.
Therefore, a new life awaits me, which means new adventures, new friends and acquaintances, something I have been long for, so now the world is my oyster.

Interesting article of the Week!

I am glad I am not the only one who think people forgot that our emotions plays a role in our decision making, how we percieve the world and how relationship with others. I posted the other day on twitter after learning that Gadhafi was a gemini, that Libya is going to have to step up to remove him from power. Calling him irrational is not going to get him to stop, they are going to need to go deeper.

jobs are out there! be dynamic and mobile they say

Saturday the discussion on some money show was focus on how the unemployed and under-employed should change their job-hunting strategy and be more flexible. They mentioned that job hunters should be dynamic and mobile.
I think employers should change the way the hire people as well.
Employers are saying that many positions are remaining unfilled because they cannot find people with right skills to fill them.
I wonder if they consider the fact that some skills are transferable and a future employee do not necessary have to match their requirements 100 percent, when they view resumes. They must also consider the fact that most people hope to learn on as well contribute to the job and employers that allows employees to do that will benefit a great deal.
