The feminist divide

Someone posted on twitter that parents spent such effort wanting or teaching their kids to walk and talk, and when the kids can walk and talk, the parents want the to sit down and shut up.

Listening this bloggingheads.tv episode makes me think of how this twitter comment relates to the disdain older feminist feel for younger feminist. The old feminist want all young women to have choices, to go out and fight for what the want, and to be authentic, but they get offended when the choices they younger women make differs from their own, they get offended when the younger women make choices they cannot imagine.

Loss

Loss is a powerful thing, a powerful thing that shakes one’s core and forces change when one does not want change.
Loss creates sadness and emptiness in people, and unavoidable feelings.
When someone you care about looses something, it feels like you yourself lost something.
Loss brings unwanted endings, new beginnings that requires people to re-adjust their lives, and cancel certain hopes...

Attempting Meditation

I am all about internal peace and compassion, so lately I have been attempting to meditate, and attempting is the word. I find it very difficult to quite the mind. I am going to try some of the the different kinds of meditation practices ( there are hundreds) and see which one, two or three suits me the most. I might have to re-read the Dalai larma's book for some tips or take a class.

Mercury's retrograding will soon end......

Mercury is the planet of communication and the ruling planet of Geminis and Virgos. It is know as God's messenger and for it swiftness and quickness. Astrologers say that since mercury move so fast about 4 times a year it has to back track because it goes to far off it course... sounds like Geminis.

On my tweeter astrologers keep asking how this retrograde is affecting us, some people have reported communication problems whiles others like me have just chilled and relax, taking this as a downtime. Some of us know that we have to be careful of what we ask for during this period because we will get it and sooner or later we will be regretting it.

But it will be over soon and with all the news I have received from close friends in the past couple of weeks things are about to speed up for me because I am right in the middle of all the wedding plans, babies coming, and for me personal it will be a job prospect... End of 2010 and 2011 is going to be full of new opportunities and faces.
Busy Busy Busy.. Fun fun fun, well for me at least.

I just got the 20011 planner that was ordered for me at work, normally I look at future calendar with disdain, but just know it was with awe...

Yesterday the ladies of the femininepower moment and their guests (which includes my favorite sister from another parent Alanis) were talking about "the evolution of love".. They came up with some cool ideas.

I think if we all know who we are, if we know embrace all sides of ourselves, we will build better relationships in life, gravitate to others who will support us and and moving away from those that poison our spirit.
