The year of the self- Books I am reading

This New Year can take credit for this if it wants but I am on a road to self-discovering, self-improvement and career development. In the last two weeks, I have read four business/self motivational books and I have plans to review many of the business concepts I learned at business school as well as read articles and books to help me become grow intellectually, spiritually and professional.
The first book I read this year “Smart Choices: A Practical Guide to Making Better Decisions” by Hammond, Keeney and Raiffa talks about the correct way to attack problems, it was recommended by one of my business school professors who told my class that it come in handy throughout our lives and he was right. I have read other books and articles where others have describe using the same concepts to solve problems as discussed in the book

The second book is called “Women, Work and the Art of Savoir Faire” by Mireille Guiliano, in this book she gives advice about the dos and don’ts in business taking from her experiences and the experiences of those around her. The book was a great read and true to form she includes some recipes which I still have yet to try, I am not big on cooking (she will not be pleased).

The third book is called Self Promotion for Introverts by Nancy Ancowitz, yes I am one and this book comes with exercise that reminded me of my marketing class lectures ( I love marketing). Interesting tidbits, Nancy met President Bill Clinton whiles she was working on the book and he told her he is an introvert. Yes, fellow introverts, this is a book for us, and I just need to get up the courage to start applying what I have learned.

I am still reading the fourth book, which is called Healing your Aloneness, and it is by Margaret Paul and Erica, J. Chopich. I heard about this book whiles watching Miss Morissette show us her condo apartment courtesy of the MTV program” Cribs” on you tube, thus as the curious Gemini that I am bought it when I saw it in the store. Surprisingly I am enjoying the book; I have used some of the tips to calm my inner child.

Now I understand why T

Sunday the 10th of January around 9am something happened and looking back make me understand why you did what you did. I was serving breakfast for the clients in the house I work at for my part-time work at the Center of Disability when suddenly I heard a bang, yeah it was me hitting the right side of my face on an open cabinet door.. Being shy and not wanting everyone in my business and trying to prevent the clients from panicking, I continued with what I was doing, and I ended up forgeting all about it until two hours later when my head started hurting, someone told me to fill out incident report, which I did reluctantly after I took some aleve..
My day continued, the day turned into night, night into day and suddenly it was tuesday morning and I work up with a partly swollen face, my right eye hurting and pressure pain.. To make a long story short, i have a concussion and its glorious (headache, irritability, sensitivity to light and sound) symptoms.
If this had happend to someone else I would have been the first to insist they go see a doctor, but when it happens to you especially if you are accident prone, you assume it just like the other time and say everything is going to be find. I forgive you T but...
